How to put and apply different shadow and silhouette effects to text with Corel DRAW

We just have to know how to use and handle the tools they offer us and in this way be able to make good use of them to put personalized effects on text and background , fix the blurry aspect of a photograph.

Without a doubt, one of the most recognized document editing programs today is Corel DRAW. It is very important to fully understand the functions and what can be created with this program. One of these is to apply different shadow and silhouette effects to a text.

Therefore, it has been decided to prepare this article, where each and every one of the steps that must be followed to place shadow and silhouette in a certain text box will be taught.

Steps to create the outline to a text box

The first step we must do is open the Corel DRAW application, then we write the text to which we will apply the effect. We can change the style of the letter and the size that it will have to our liking.

Now, we must create the silhouette that our text will have, for this we select the “Silhouette” tool located on the left side of the screen. Then we place the mouse over our text and leaving the left button pressed we drag outwards.

You can see how a silhouette will be created around our text, in the upper bar we can configure this silhouette. Also change the distance it has from the text, the edges it has and the color to our preference.

The next step we must do is separate the object we have, first we must select everything. Then we click on the “Object” option located at the top of the screen and click on the “Separate Silhouette Group” option .

Steps to apply different shadow effects to text

Performing the previous steps we can separate the text from the silhouette, now we can start applying the shadow effect. To apply this effect, the first step is to select the text we create.

We go to the bar located on the left of the screen and select the shadow tool. We place our mouse over the text and keeping the left click pressed we drag outwards.

We will automatically observe how the shadow effect is created around our text, once it is done we can start to configure it. At the top we see the shadow configuration options .

You can modify the thickness of the shadow, the direction we want it to have, we can also choose between different shades of color. Then we drag the text on top of our silhouette and configure the shadow making it more or less visible.

Finally, we only have to add a shadow to the silhouette that we have created for this, we select the option “Attribute eyedropper located on the left. We must deactivate all the properties and transformation options.

We will only leave enabled the option “Shadow in effects”, we accept and now we select the created shadow, then we paste it both inside and outside of the silhouette.

Finally, we would only have to group the objects.
