How to turn off WiFi automatically when Ethernet cable is connected

Like many other users, I use an Ethernet cable when I am at work and I use WiFi when I am at home to connect my laptop to the Internet. Although WiFi is also available at my work, I prefer to use the Ethernet cable to improve the battery life of my laptop. Also, the Ethernet connection is always faster than WiFi.

When you connect an Ethernet cable to a PC that was already connected to WiFi, Windows 10 automatically uses the Ethernet connection instead of the WiFi network. The problem is that the system does not turn off WiFi automatically when you connect an Ethernet cable. You need to disable WiFi manually if you want to save power.

IMPORTANT: the provision to disable WiFi automatically when you connect an Ethernet cable may not be available on your PC. This is because some network adapters do not support this feature. Wouldn’t it be nice to turn off WiFi automatically when connecting an Ethernet cable to your PC? Yes, Windows 10 provides a provision to automatically turn off WiFi when you connect an Ethernet cable to your PC.
