Use the Windows + R keyboard shortcut to open the Run window . Then type CMD in it and press Ctrl + Shift + Enter to open Command Prompt as administrator.

In the open Command Prompt, type sfc / scannow and hit the Enter key .

# 6. Create a new administrator user

To solve the problem that Windows 10 does not open the Start menu, one of the measures you can take is to create another user account. It has to be a privileged user, and you can do it this way:

Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the Task Manager.

Go to the File menu , choose the option Run new task and type the following in the dialog box, replacing NewUser and Password with your choice:

net user NewUser Password / add

Check the Create this task with administrative privileges box and press the Enter key .

This will create the new administrator user, with the name and password you specified. Now you just have to log in with those credentials and check if the Start button and menu work well.

If everything works fine in the new user, log in to the old user and transfer your settings and files to the new account:

Windows keyboard shortcut + R to open Run, type control panel and press Enter to open Control Panel.

In the Control Panel choose System and then Advanced System Settings.

Then go to the Advanced tab and in the User profiles section , click the Settings button .

Select the new user or profile and click the Copy to… button
