How to know if I am affiliated with the National Pension System or consult ONP (Peru)

This State institution is in charge of administering and managing the contributions of workers during their working period that are stored in the common solidarity fund for pensioners.

  2. You must have completed your retirement or have completed your working life.
  3. Have contributed 13% of their salary to the National Pension System on a monthly basis for a period of at least 20 years.
  4. Not be affiliated with the Private Pension System.

If you meet all these requirements, then you can be affiliated with the National Pension System.

How do I know if I am a member of the SNP?

Checking if you are affiliated with the National Pension System is quite simple and you can do it through the internet from any place and time of day. To do so, you must do the following:

  1. From your web browser, access the portal of the Social Security Normalization Office (ONP) using this link: https://www.gob.pe/onp
  2. Go to Carry out detailed consultation of pensioners.
  3. On this new page you must enter your identity document and virtual key.
  4. Enter the security code displayed on the screen and press Enter.
  5. Once inside, you will know if you are affiliated with the SNP or not.

If you do not have an access password, you can request it from any of the OPN service offices located throughout the Peruvian territory. These offices work from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Monday, and from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM from Tuesday to Friday.

How to join the National Pension System

Depending on the nature of work for which you have applied during your working life, affiliation to the SNP merits different requirements. In this sense, below we explain everything you need to know.

Dependent workers

If you have worked as a dependent worker, you should know that the only requirement that you must meet to join the SNP is not to be affiliated with the Private Pension System (SPP). This is because, by law, when you are hired as a dependent worker, the contracting entity makes the affiliation with the ONP as long as you are not registered in a particular pension system.

Independent workers

In case you have worked as an independent worker and are interested in joining the SNP, you should know that the requirement to take into account is that you must contribute 13% of the RMV depending on the income declared. This type of affiliation applies to individuals who carry out work activities independently and to housewives as established in Law No. 24705.

In these cases, the affiliation to the National Pension System can be carried out virtually or in person and here we explain how to do it:

In a virtual way:

  1. Enter the OPN website from this link: https://www.gob.pe/onp
  2. Go to I want to join a scheme administered by the ONP and select the category I am an independent worker.
  3. On this new page, you must choose Make Optional Affiliation to the National Pension System – SNP (DL N ° 19990).
  4. On this new page you must click Accept and then fill in the form with your ID and email address.
  5. Press Login and your membership will be carried out automatically.

In person

If when trying to register virtually the page shows you a message explaining that you cannot join, then you should go to any of the ONP service offices and bring the necessary documentation with you to be able to solve the situation and be able to join without major problems.
