Reasons why unknown contacts appear on WhatsApp

The reasons why unknown contacts appear or that you have never registered on your cell phone may be different, but the most common are the following:

  • Accounts synchronized on the device : If someone else has registered a different account on your device and activated the “Synchronize contacts” option, it is very likely that their entire WhatsApp agenda will be mixed with yours. This is something that you can easily solve by deactivating this synchronization or deleting the email registered in the “Accounts” section of the phone.
  • Second-hand equipment : When buying second-hand phones that have not been factory reset, it is possible to find some unknown contacts on WhatsApp. You just have to restore the device or delete the calendar manually to solve it.
  • Badly registered contacts : If for some reason you did not properly complete the registration of a contact on the phone, it will only appear with the cell phone number in the WhatsApp agenda. You simply have to modify it to solve the problem.
