How to disable saving password in your Internet browser
The built-in password manager in most browsers is extremely insecure. Using your PC’s login password to access your other passwords is more than enough reason to stop using it. It is convenient to use a dedicated password manager and disable saving password in the browser.
If you are concerned about the security of your passwords, you should switch to a secure password manager like lastpass. and disable the browser’s built-in password manager.
Here I will show you how to disable the Save Password option in all major browsers and remove previously saved passwords.
Disable save password in Google Chrome
In Google Chrome you can deactivate the Save password option and delete saved passwords as follows:
Go to the main menu in the upper right corner and select Settings.
Then go to the bottom of the page and click on Advanced Settings. In the Passwords and forms section , click the Manage passwords option and disable it.
This will prevent Chrome from requesting to save passwords every time you log into a website. If you want to delete previously saved passwords, click the Manage Passwords link .

A window will open where you can see all your saved passwords. Simply click the cross (X) button next to each entry to remove it.
Disable save password in Mozilla Firefox
To disable the Save password option and passwords already saved in Firefox, follow the steps below:
Click on the hamburger menu in the upper right corner and select Options.
Go to the Privacy and security section and uncheck the option Remember usernames and passwords for websites. This will prevent Firefox from saving your passwords in the future.
To remove previously saved passwords, click the Saved Accounts� button on the same page. Here you can delete saved passwords and even import them to save elsewhere.
Disable save password in Opera
In the Opera browser you can perform the following steps to deactivate the Save password option and delete the already saved passwords:
Open the Opera menu from the upper left corner and select Settings.
Access the Privacy and security section in the menu on the left and uncheck the option Offer to save passwords that you enter on the web.
To manage passwords, click the Show all passwords button below. You can click the cross (X) next to each saved password to delete it.
Disable save password in Safari
You can disable the Save passwords option and manage previously saved passwords in Safari through the steps below:
Open the Safari menu and click Preferences.
Now uncheck the Usernames and passwords option to prevent Safari from saving your passwords.
To manage previously saved passwords, click the Edit button next to the Usernames and Passwords option. Here you can delete passwords individually or in bulk.
Disable save password in Microsoft Edge
In Microsoft Edge, you can prevent the browser from saving your passwords through the following steps:
Go to Edge’s main menu in the upper right corner and click Settings.
Scroll down here and click the View advanced settings button at the end. Scroll down a bit more and disable the button below the option Offer the ability to save passwords to prevent Edge from saving your passwords.
You can click the Manage Passwords button a little further down to see all the passwords and remove them.
Disable save password in Internet Explorer
In Internet Explorer you can manage the Save passwords option, as well as previously saved passwords by following these steps:
Click on the gear menu in the upper right corner and select Internet Options.
Then go to the Content tab and click the Settings button in the AutoComplete section .
Uncheck the check box next to Usernames and passwords on forms. Internet Explorer will stop asking you to save your password.
You can click the Manage Passwords button a little further down to see all the saved passwords and delete them.
Alternative ways to delete saved passwords
To deactivate the Save password option, you must access the security settings of the respective browser. However, if you just want to remove all saved passwords, there is also an alternative method.
All browsers come with an option to clear browsing data. This feature also has an option to delete all saved passwords. This option is usually found in the privacy and security settings of a browser. Go there and check the Saved passwords option and delete them.
You can also use a cleaning tool like piriform. to remove passwords saved in multiple browsers at the same time. Just open CCleaner and go to the Applications section . You will see all the browsers installed on the system. Just select Saved Passwords in each of the browsers and click Run Cleaner to remove all passwords.
Note that CCleaner also removes other types of junk files to clean your PC. If you don’t want to delete junk data for some reason, uncheck all other options first.
Disable save password option in browser
Although you can always reject the “Save password” prompt each time it is asked, disabling the option is important.
